Tim Walker
One of my most favourite photographers is Tim Walker. I love his way of exaggerating on the size of many if his shoots, i think it's very unique and forward thinking. I remember going to his exhibition at Summerset House and being truly amazed. Many of his images are used for advertising in designer stores and in Vogue, here are some of my favourite images:
Different Types of photography
There are many different types of photography, these include:
. News- Photo journalism
. Documentary
. War
. Fashion
. Landscape
. Architecture
. Portrait
. Food
. Still Life
. Stock (objects to be sold, holiday photograph)
. Life Style
. Wedding
. Underwater
. Music
I have chosen three to look at in detail and give examples of. The three i have chosen are, portrait, underwater and music.
Portrait photography:
Portrait photography is where you have a shot of just one person, often in black and white from chest level upwards. It's a simple way of photography however the lighting and positioning is precise and perfected to the required desire. Here are some famous examples of portraits.
Music/ gig photography:
Music photography is a very popular type, it's basically photographs of bands playing live, festivals, or portraits of the group/ signer. Here are some of my personal favourites.

Underwater photography:
Underwater photography is usually done while scuba diving, but can be done while diving on the surface, snorkelling, swimming or from a submarine. Successful underwater photography is usually done with specialised equipment. It offers exciting and rare photographic opportunities to capture different under water species, unseen shipwrecks and is also used for high fashion photography. Here are some examples:

film photography research
Film Photography is a strip or sheet of transparent plastic coated on one side with a gelatin containing small light-sensitive silver crystals. The sizes of the crystals determine the sensitivity, resolution of the film.
The film will darken if left exposed to light, a short exposure to the image formed by a camera lens is used to produce a chemical change, equal to the amount of light taken in by each crystal. This then creates the photograph that we see.
When black-and-white photographic film is being used there is only one layer of silver salts. When the crystals get exposed and see the chemicals and light the silver salts are converted to metallic silver, which blocks light and appears as the black part of the film which is called a negative.
Colour film uses at least three layers to create the finished photograph. one of the first steps is dyes, which absorb the silver salts and make the crystals sensitive to different colours. Following development, the silver is converted back to silver salts in the bleach step. It is removed from the film in the fix step which means all the colours are finally fixed in to place to they don't smudge or discolour.

Photography 9-10-2013
|The photo below is outside with an iso of 1600, this is why it's clear.
The photo is quite light because the iso is 200
This photo however is on a lower iso 200 which makes it a lot darker
the one below is once again on 1600
And the last one is 1600

Depth of field
In the last lesson we worked on depth of field, shallow and a larger depth. We turned our aperture when the shutter speed changes it's self so on lower number the image becomes blurred and on a bigger number the number are more in focus than out.
In the first photograph Beth is further in to the background rather than Jenelle who is nearer the front. The depth of field in this is deeper than the other two. Also Jenelle is shadowed so this automatically makes her the main focus.
the second photograph shows that Jenelle is the focus of the photograph because the depth of the field is shallower. Beth is now out of focus making the main focus Jenelle.
